FAQs
Is this class suitable for beginning runners? Or those new to strength training?
Yes!!! New runners and/or those new to strength training are encouraged to attend! Proper form and moving safety are always the number one priority. We will teach exercises based on current ability level with modifications as needed.
What about experienced and competitive runners or those with a strength training background?
Yes!!! Workouts are programmed to challenge veteran runners and lifters, without being overbearing. We want you to still be able to get your mileage in during the week.
What type of training will we be doing?
Glad you asked! The program is comprehensive and covers the following at various points. We cover dynamic and active warm ups, foam rolling technique/ muscle recovery, strength training for explosive speed and power, as well as strength endurance, and pure strength. We work on joint mobility (especially in the hips) , and core strength. We work on cardiovascular conditioning and improving VO2 max and lactate tolerance doing high intensity intervals. We utilize all the tools Fitness Movement has to offer, from weights, bands, TRX suspension trainers, sleds, tires, medicine balls, bodyweight, and more.
Will there be running in class?
No.
Well, maybe a little as part of warm ups or a particular drill, but this is not a running class. Running is very minimal. This program will complement your own running.

I'm not serious about racing or competing. Why should I strength train?
Strength is important for everyone! As we age, our bodies loose lean muscle mass, which not only means a flabbier physique, but also can make everyday tasks more difficult, and makes us more prone to injury. Strength training has been proven to stop or lessen muscle loss that naturally happens with age. It also is proven to help strengthen bones, can help in reducing body fat, will increase lean muscle, can leave you feeling good with more endorphins, and improve your cardiovascular health. One of the most sought after benefits besides athletic performance, is it makes you look good! If you want to sculpt and tone your body, you have to strength train. If you run for weight loss, you will never get the toned body you want with just running alone. If you're still not convinced, contact me.
Do I need to bring anything?
